Thesis Title: Multiproxy study in two karstic lakes in the Iberian Ranges: climate variability and anthropogenic impact during the last millenium
About
I have just finished my PhD in Palaeoecology at the University of Valencia (Spain). In my thesis, I have reconstructed climate variability and anthropogenic activities during the last millennium in the Iberian Ranges (Spain). I have used a wide variety of proxies ranging from biological proxies such as cladoceran subfossils or plant macrofossils to lithological characteristics, isotopes or macrocharcoals.
I also have experience in freshwater monitoring (lakes and ponds), which made me know the neo-ecological behavior of the systems to better interpret the sedimentary signal. My current research interest focus on this interaction nature vs. human and basically aims to reconstruct past environments to the better understand climate, feedbacks in nature and the historical context of future changes.
